Does anybody have any info regarding the loading of leverelotion powder with the 325gr TSX bullet? Does Hodgson and Hornady wish to keep it a secret?

Not all of the factory made leverevolution uses straight leverevolution canister powder. Just like how not all the factory superformance ammo uses straight superformance canister powder. Most theories are that some of them use a blend of powder.
As for Barnes projectiles it could be that they never tested that combination of powder and projectile or they did and nothing proved satisfactory. I doubt they're just keeping it a secret as they do list data for Barnes projectiles.

There is no info in the Hornady handbook, on thier website or Hogdons website. I agree with the first post. I have loads in my Marlin 45-70 of 46.5, 47., and 47.5 grains of H4198 that are unbelievable. Two shot groups with 47 gr showing a pass through at 100 yds. Good luck.

Well I phoned Hornady and talked to one of their technical guys. He told me that their 325gr tsx bullets are Not loaded with Leverelotion powder. Go Figure. The only reason that I bought that powder was that i thought I could duplicate the loads that they had come up with. That is probably why there is no info for the 45/70 using that evoloution powder in any of those loading manuals. So Don,t buy that powder figureing to use it in your loads for the 45/70. I have had great luck with IMR 4198.
