Does anyone have some experience shooting the British Rook Rifles? I could use some starting loads for the 300 (295) Rook.
Thanks

According to my old Cartridges of the World they list a 90gr Lyman bullet #311245 with either 6 grs SR 4759 for 1150 fps or 5 grs Unique for 1100 fps.

The third load is for an 80gr bullet with 10grs Black for 1100 fps.

It would be wise to reduce these smokeless loads a bit to start with.

SR 4759 might be hard to find, I don't know if it is still produced, but it is my favorite powder for old cartridges with cast bullets.

Starting low is key, older rifles don't have the strength in the action, and the bore diameters vary a fair bit. It would be a shame to harm a fine old piece.
