Mods, feel free to move this to OT if it's too far outside of the spectrum.

So, I was expanding some empty 45 ACP brass and my 6 year old daughter (who has severe autism) kept hanging around my reloading bench watching me. After about the 20th time trying to get her hands in there, I gave up and let her try.

MAN, the kid is a natural and she loves it !!!! My son has helped me, but he usually gets bored after a few dozen. After probably 150, her mom called us both for dinner and she didn't want to stop!!!!

Check the vid of her telling mom to be quiet LOL!!!!!!! :D

You should have shipped her to me last week. 1500 .308 Lapua cases, cleaned, FL resized, cleaned again, trimmed, deburred and sorted by weight. 900 primed so far today with 600 more to go. Then the loading will start. Can she read a digital scale?
I promise to send her home as soon as she is done. Will pay airfare both ways:p

Would it be going too far if I renter her by the hour :eek::eek: !!!!!

Man, that's a pile of case prep. Glad it's you and not me. I don't mind doing a thousand of something, but one step at a time, with a day or two in between each step. My hat is off to you and your level of patience.....or determination......both!!!!!

I'll feed her too, she doesn't look like she eats too much.

The case prep isn't something I look forward to and I have put it off all winter. I had the FL resize because I have a new barrel being put on. Had to trim because the cases were getting a tad (.015") too long. Sure love my Gracey trimmer for that. Since everything got trimmed, it all had to be resorted by weight. 600 more to prime and I should be set for the season at least as far as prepped and cases go.

There is still a couple hundred loaded rounds left over from last year that will need to be done, once I fire them off during barrel break in and testing.

My 5 year old son likes to watch as well, he likes to help where he can too :) its good for them to learn how things really work, I think it gives kids a better appreciation of what things are.

My father never had firearms... so I'm trying to get him into it now :)

I don't reload yet, though...

My 4 yr old twin daughters like to help me but not as much as my 3 yr old son! My press shoots the primers on the floor instead of in the collection tube, so my kids all rush to be the first one to pick them up and put them in the garbage! lol
Only thing I have to watch is that they wash their hands afterwards, and I made the mistake of telling the boy NOT to put the primers or his fingers in this mouth... well you can guess what I found him doing about 30 seconds after I said that. It's fun though! Good for you for finding a way to bond with your daughter more. I can't wait to get them out to the range on the pellet gun and the .22 maybe.
