It's my tumbler. I had it jammed WAY too full and didn't have enough media in it. It's actually not as loud as it sounds in that video. For some reason, this camera seems to amplify some noises while others, you can barely make out, even though they were louder. I guess you can't buy a decent $99, 7.1mp camera anymore :D
 
Awesome, you just gave me the idea to get my kids involved when I start reloading, just amassing equipment and knowledge now, thanks for that post! edit: watched the clip 5 times and forwarded to my wife and friends :)
 
I have a nephew with severe autism and related syndrome..... it is always a GREAT thing when you can reach them and include them in even the simplest things.

the greatest times can be had with your kids. I hope to have times like you have with my Grandson who is only 18 months now. I reload and even an extra pair of hands can be wonderful. Even ten fold if they are your family's hands. You are so lucky in a special way. Bravo.......
 
She says "my turn" and looks at the press now. I felt bad that I didn't have anything for her to do last night, so I threw some 30-30 brass into the tumbler. I need more 30-30 reloads like I need a hole in the head, but those were the only empty cases I have right now :D

I'm planning on a trip to the range next weekend. I guess I had better do some cowboy action shooting to get her some empties LOL!!!!

Because of her autism, she's got a pretty narrow field of safe activites that she can do without someone being right on top of her every second. It's just fantastic that we can do something together that we both enjoy. It may sound crazy, but when she's a little older, I'm going to take her to the range one day during the week when it's quiet and see if she can stand the noise. If she can, I might actually be able to get her to fire a few shots.....UNDER EXTREME SUPERVISION (hand over hand kind of thing) of course. Who knows. She's surprised the heck out of me before.
 
Child Assisted Loading

My son is in a wheel chair, born with Cerebral Palsy. He contiually asks what he can do as a young adult in regards to a job. We have discussed setting up a small reloading business where he could do the majority of the work.
Using a progressive press, he needs to ensure everything is working. I will fill the equipment and carry our quality control.
Totally encourage everyone to include their children in the sport.
One you are spending time with your young ones. And two as they get older they will include their friends increasing the numbers caring on the sport.
 
blacksmithden, i am sure i could donate some brass to the cause if you want her to load pistol calibres. i usually have a coffee can full of range brass in 9 and 40 that i would happily send to you for her to reload for your use. i also have a few rifle calibres around so let me know what you are set up for.

Another job that she might be able to do for you is chamber checking.
 
My two girls love to size and gas check my cast bullets. One pops the gas check on the bullets and places them onto the press and the other pulls the lever and runs them through my Lee sizing die. They have a ball;)

Thanks for the offer of the brass, but I'm good. I blew off about 200 44mag and another hundred or so 45's this weekend. I'm tumbling them now. That'll keep her happy for a while :D

I never thought of feeding her coffee :D Do kids work faster if they're hyped up on caffine????? LOL!!!!
