Reloading Winchester Ballistic Silvertip cases

"...reloaded silvertip cases..." Only the bullet is a silvertip. The case is just a case.
Barne$ Bullet$ require Barne$ bullet data. Should be lots of .300 Win Mag data on their site.

I have recently converted some nickel plated 30-06 to 7mm Mauser (do to not finding any 7mm Mauser brass anywhere) and I did find the plated cases just a little harder to form and bump back the shoulder, otherwise very normal and nothing to worry about.

For some reason Remington makes component .280 brass in nickel plated cases. They work great for handgun rounds, not so for rifle. They are too hard and brittle, almost every neck split for me after 2 or 3 firings. They are fine if you get them for free or to use as throw away brass, but don't go out of your way to buy it.

I'll second that. I haven't had any split on me yet but have several that are chipping / peeling. Yes, they are harder to bump and are harder on your cutting tools as well. The one bag of 50 that I have came with the rifle - I haven't actually bought nickle brass since my first experience with it about 14 years ago. Really don't like them at all.

The plain brass and plated story below. I don't like plated cases because it cracks and flakes off the neck of the case after trimming. My 2 cents

"Hi-Ho, Silver! Away!"
Silver bullets also act as a calling card for The Lone Ranger in his adventures. The masked man decided to use bullets forged from the precious metal as a symbol of justice, law and order, and to remind himself and others that life, like silver, has value and is not to be wasted or thrown away. The Ranger's sidekick Tonto laments that the amount of silver the Ranger thoughtlessly wasted could have bought enough food to feed Tonto's entire village for a year.

Do it!!! That it fantastic brass and reloads very well. I have done a pile of it in 30-06 and had zero problems. No flaking when trimming!!!
