Oh yes there was.
It was made and marked as, "For use in synchronized guns." For use in machine guns that shot through the moving propeller of a fighter aircraft in flight.
You could still see the scratch marks on the 303 cases from removing it from the belt. There was still a small ammount of it around in the early 70's. I shot some as a youngster at the farm...it went clean through the metal target and the tree.
I have fired 50 rounds of my "home made" 9mm now. Works just fine. Clean burning, no flame out the barrel...same as my Blue dot powder. Same recoil, same distance and accuracy and power when it hits the metal plates. tried some in my Just right Carbine...same as the other rounds...nothing different.
