reloading woes

Well...I thought I had some 231 lined up ..I even got a confirmation email and everything only to be emailed the next morning saying sorry its on backorder but will be filled automatically when they get some in. After 3 days of searching thats the closest I can seem to get. Everyone else that I talked to has not only no win231 but no pistol powder period. I researched that 3N38 powder but I think it might be a little too hot for a standard .45 load but idk....i'd have to call and find out on monday.

If anyone has a line on something that will work in 9mm behind a Berry's 124gr RN I'd love to know. Running low and local Vancouver shops have empty shelves. And Henry from Budgetshootersupply hasn't had any in a long time.

Forget Brownell's and Cabela's USA. No exports of components.
Used Bullseye with a 121 grain cast TC for eons. Berry's plated bullets should be fine with it too. A few grains of weight doesn't matter. Nor does who made it.
No .45 ACP with 3N38 loads on Vihtavuori's site.

Titegroup on plated and jacketed pistol bullets worked great but very smoky on ALOX lead bullets. Looking for slower burning powder but with current shortage may be stuck with TG.

Not to fuel the fire, however, just stopped in to CTC (Belleville, Ont) and they have no smokeless or primers. Not a huge supplier (they're at least trying), but still
a sign of the times. Was also told that the feedback they got from Alliance was that no shipments likely to Canada untill later 2015.
Check out Hodgdon's FAQ page as well. Hope it's better elsewhere, kudos to those bigger suppliers, but shipping costs (not suppliers fault)
are still a killer.
Cheers

Unfortunately I think we are all feeling the same pain. More time spent searching the internet for bits and pieces from here and there to fuel the pasion......Don't give up

What drives me bananas is that IMR is made in Canada shipped to the USA and sold back to us at a premium !

if you guys look for some powder call Wanstalls they have some in stock and don't sell it over there web-site!
IMR 3031 IMR4895 and some others! i just picked some up today

To my surprise, Brownells does seem to be able to ship some brands of bullets & brass, as I found by clicking on the "Available outside USA" filter, which will limit the selection. I have a backorder on some .22 Hornet brass from them. Speaking of which, some time ago I sent an e-mail to the so-called Canadian distributor for Prvi Partizan ("Bell Lifestyle Products" Suppliers of nutritional supplements, shark cartilage etc.!) about PPU Hornet brass. Over a week later I got a message from some guy from his iPod: "Don't sell brass." I then sent an e-mail (two, actually) to Prvi in Serbia. Never heard back. Looks like they only have a Canadian distributor on paper. Pathetic. It would be useful to have a non-USA source for brass, but of course all Prvi's output is being sent to the US to keep the panic buyers and hoarders happy.

As to W231, I've had this on order from Rusty Wood here in Mission for nearly a year. Higginsons didn't get any with their last big shipment. "Lucky" I'm not doing much shooting at the moment. :(
