reloading

my brother just gave me an old reloading press and some dies and i was wondering if i was using it right, i was trying to reload .270 win but when i but the setter in and press the brass up the primer only comes out a litte,now i have changed the depth of the setter but it feels like the brass is to wide to fit in all the way, is this normal or is something worng.

It sounds like you are just getting started so before you blow yourself or your press to bits..........

Do a pile more reading before you try anything else.

Buy some manuals and read them.

visit some relading websites and read all the available info.

You have to lube the case. Read a manual or two before you start reloading or you might regret it. Kaboom!
