Hi Folks, I’m wondering what combination you’re using for your Glock reloads?

I’m looking for a baseline to start with, a mild’ish target load, TMJ.

I guess I should mention that this is indoor (20yd.), so smoke and flame is something that I’m trying to keep in check. :D

I’ve skimmed the books, but I’m hoping for a Glock specific response.

I appreciate any feedback you could give me.

Thanks.

My brother and I also shoot indoors. He has a Glock and tried some rounds I made but they certainly aren't Glock specific, not sure any load is TBH but I'm still very new.

I used 6.4 grain of power pistol behind a 165gr TMJ with CCI primers. They worked great. Power Pistol certianly has more muzzle flash but it's not like someone was taking flash photos in the range.

I'd like to use a 180, what sort of grain weight in the PP?

What bullet do you want to use... I was using power pistol under a 180 and thought it was good..

Sorry I don't have any lite .40 S&W loads but with some cases and hot loads the rear of the case can develop a bulge in the unsupported area of the case at the feed ramp. If the bulge is not sized down it can cause chambering problems, below is just one fix and there are many other type dies that fix this problem.

I, so far, don't seem to have this issue. (22 Gen 4). I don't know maybe if I started loading hotter, it may become more apparent. I think they tightened up the chambers, a little less "unsupported".

Thanks Great., this is the sort of "cook book" I was looking for.

I shoot a glock 22(40s&w) and have used 4.7gn of w231 (winchester) behind a 180gn flat point with very good results. It is noticeably softer than factory loads and i have never had a feeding or ejecting issue. Hope this helps.

Also to add to what bigedp51 said, i use a bulge buster and size the cases because i noticed significant bulging near the base. After sizing (without bulge buster), the brass would be bulged where the sizer could not reach and would consequently not chamber properly. I'm sure not everyone deals with this issue but i have experienced it first hand so just passing on the knowledge.

my go to load is a min load of titegroup 4.2 grains i think and 180 gr plated with federal primers and functions without a hitch in my glock 22

My classic target load for the 40S&W is the very nice Magma-Engineering 155grain SWC lead bullet behind 3.8 grains of PROMO powder. Not only is this load a tack driver @25 yards, works in every 40 gun I tried, and is very nice at the 50 yard line. My pal Rick at RandRbullets.com makes this superb bullet. He got this mould for me when he was in Hamilton and happy. Tell him the Hatman sent you.....

Perfect. Thanks again Gents.

I was hoping to try TiteGroup, but can't get my hands on any locally, at least not for a week or 2.

Has anyone tried Unique, behind 180 grain?

I run 6.4gr of Unique behind a 180 grain Berry's bullet in a Gen 3 Glock
That was the load that I ended up with as well, IIRC a little softer than factory. Currently I run 5.4 of Win 231 under a 180 grain Berry's for my G22 Gen 4

I still have my load workup velocities for Unique under the same bullet from 5 to 7.1 grains if anyone is interested, PM me.

How do you find it? How does the brass like it? I have a pound to test out, I'm just curious.

Thanks!! My problem is I'm only referencing a Speer book, I don't even have info on Win, which is a shame because I've heard good things. A second book is on my list for this weekend.

I'll send you a quick PM for the workup. Thanks again!
