Reloads wont chamber, Swiss K31

Be aware that with the two Hornady LNL presses, the AP and the Single Stage Classic, the ram height travel is different, so dies properly set up in one with the LNL bushings will be be off in the other without a corrective spacer.

Hasn't bother me enough yet to get the calibration done on mine.

Also think I need better lube, using the aerosol Hornady stuff and was quite a chore to reize with the 7.5x55 die.

Get a better lube.. RCBS liq lube in 2oz container... Dillon spray lube (lanolin and isoproply alcohol)...

New gen RCBS spray... junk... Hrn spray, not bad for light resizing. Sounds like you have some heavy duty pressures... get a better lube and your dies will work just fine.

Size in a single stage press, tumble to get rid of lube... then move to the progressive to finish up the ammo.

Anyone know where to get a Forester Co-ax press? I was gonna get a single stage anyways for when I got into precision, might as well get the one I want right out of the gate.

ALso, Where could one find Lanolin? Might try some home made lube.

Another phenomenal illustration, BigEd ! How on earth do you produce them? As usual, your accompanying text is well-written, cogent and easy-to-understand. I, too, will soon start reloading 7.5x55 for my K31, but with virgin, non-military brass. I'm throwing away my Gewehrpatronen mit their verdammte Berdan primer pockets. Thank you for taking the time to prepare this very educational posting.
 
My friend was reloading for his K31 for a while. He had to trim the cases every time and put the dies to the minimum possible to get it to work. He eventually sold the rifle simply because it was such a hassle to reload.
 
OP try turning your die in more. I've seen a few examples when the 1/8 turn after hitting the shell holder wasn't enough, and more like 1/2 turn fixed the problem.

Also, try trimming one of the cases that almost fits. If it fits better then you know the brass is too long (I know you said it's within spec, but it's super easy to try so why not?)
 
I suggest you try castor oil. Find it in any drugstore, cheap, can mix with alcohol if you want to spray. I use as is and rub thin coat on with my fingers.
Might even have already in the medicine cabinet.
Only lube I found that makes it relatively easy to make Rosetta crimped 8x57 blanks from 30-06 brass.
