Rem 1100 value

Ok I am decided, I don't think I can go wrong, possible issues considered and all. The gun is 3" chambered and it is bored out to modified for steel to clarify. I am going to shoot it hopefully soon and if it performs with no failures its going home with me. I already feel I am ripping the guy off but I have a feeling he will give it to me for cheaper too :)
 
BUY IT!!!!! I have a 1100 in 2 3/4 12G and it is my fav. gun by far. The recoil is almost non existent. the only downfall like someone mentioned is that its only 2 3/4 and is not suited for steel shot. But with that said for $250 you can get a new barrel with 3" and all the chokes not to mention it can take steel shot. Getting a new barrel for the spring....cant wait. You will love that gun.

I think you have to do a little more than plunk on a 3 inch barrel and go? Hi Standard who posted on this thread may have made the conversion.

I mentioned earlier that I am not a big fan but have owned a couple..... I would never buy another for a duck gun or a general purpose gun BUT I would buy a 410 or a 28 if the price was right. I just love those little buggers.

But at $200 I also would never let one go.
 
I have a Model 12A, which as I understand it was the parent of the 1100 and was discontinued in 1963. A gunsmith told me that it was 99% an 1100. I bought it almost 10 years ago with the barrel cut down to 18" (so no choke) and it was camoed with synthetic stock.

I call this gun old rusty and she can take a s**t kickin'. It gets pretty dirty during hunting season from regular use and I don't usually clean it unless it gets wet until the end of the season (3-4 months). I have never had a FTF or a jam. Great gun, mine is ugly as hell and won't shoot very far because of the choke. Its a 2 3/4 chamber.

Two new guns in one day? You're on a roll! :DUnfired 1100 for $400.00 is a very good deal especially since I often see used ones for more than that.
