rem. 150gr?

What are you using to lube your cases only time I ever had any problem sizing was when I tried a spray lube cases were very hard to size. I stick with the case lube pad now and all is good.

i use lyman Qwik Spray and it always fell sticky, i was never really a problem because the other .308 i reload for have a really tight chamber so fl sizing didn't need to much effort,
but the brass expand much more in the m-14.

i'm gonna switch to lube pad and see if it help, thanks

Took mine to the range yesterday.

Here are the results, in order of groups. Mag loaded with 5 shots.

1) Reload Hornady 150 gr, Win 748, mag primers. 0.9" to 1.2" consistent groups. This depended on how long I let my barrel cool. They opened up a bit if blasting too quickly.

2) Win Super-x - 150 gr. 1.7" groups. Not bad, but not great.

3) Remy core-lokt - 150 gr. 1.8" to 2.5 ". Very inconsistent ammo, wandered all over the place. Cool barrel was about 2" (3 shots). I got a case of the stuff.

Found the same thing with my 2007 Norc. As far as off the shelf commercial, I found the most consistent was Federal Blue Box 150 gr, followed closely by Winchester White Box 150gr.

Move mine? You mean the ammo?

Nah...I got one other rifle which eats it up...it has open sights so it really doesn't matter.

If you meant the rifle...nope...nadda zip. I ain't parting with her. :D

The way I read all the warnings etc about the M1a and M14 clones what is important is pressure curve and fps. Most hunting loads from what I can see have the wrong specs. But unless you reload what choice do you have. This is more to do with the oprod and bolt speed.shooting hunting loads time to time should not harm anything, and it gets you brass to reload. Some of the experts like M14doc or many others can chime in with their knowadge
