Hello all, I have a Remington 597 22mag (with metal magazine). I have very little complaints with this gun however when the temp gets cold the gun seems to misfire the first round that I load. The pin is striking the bullett but it is not firing. After it fires one round it seems to feed pretty good (not as good as on warmer days but good I suppose).

Anybody with any idea why this is happening and what I can do to help fix this. I just hate the "click" sound when I pull the trigger!!!!

thanks

Yup. Excessive lube. When the temp drops, the oil gets thick.....FTF.

Take your bolt out, hose the crap out of it (literally and figuratively) with brake-clean, and re-install. Wipe the outside of the bolt with a LITTLE gun oil if it makes you feel beter, but leave the insides un-lubed.
