Rem 597 parts

Jason at Gunco has placed an order for extractors for me....hopefully that goes through.

Unfortunatelly my extractor is NFG, i keep getting stovepipes...which is highly annoying as the rest of the gun is amazing and i love shooting it.

stovepipes and failure to eject properly...

usually shows up as the shell still stuck in the action.

the extractor beings to pull it out but fail to eject it to the side so the empty cartridge remains in the receiver area. The bolt starts to close and feed a new cartridge in but fails to finish closing.

You then gotta tilt the gun to the right side and cycle the bolt again and shake the shell out.

Okay, I understand what a stovepipe jam is.

What I'm asking is: My 597 works great. Do I need to look for the extractor to stop working? Do they frequently do that? If so, why? What part of it breaks?

I was just in Phoenix... Considered picking a few up and bringing them back... But I didn't feel like getting the rubber glove at customs.

Now I'm kind of disappointed that I didn't.. (not because I didn't get the glove)

I meant to update this a while back. Jason got them in stock....but he doesnt ship out. :owned:

I just called Jason at Gunco and he said they don't have any in stock and told me he doesn't deal in aftermarket parts.

So did I not ask the right question?

Well i just got a email from John at Milarm and my extractor and hammer on on its way!

I don't know how many he has but you might want to send a email and make sure.

Happy shooting!
