Rem 597 Scope, removable suggestions

Hey,

I just got a rem 597 with iron sights but was hoping to occasionally put a scope on it, I think there is a way to attach some sort of rail on the gun and a scope. Any suggestions of how to do it, I believe there are scopes that are easily removable, can anyone point out some good but cheap ones for me?

Yup you could attach a weaver rail or use the grooves on reciever.

It's not removable but I use a set of see through mounts on my 597 and love it. That way I can use either the scope or the iron sites. I ordered them through Cabela's and think they were $20.00 or so

I kept my iron sights on but added a rail and scope. I got my 597 rail from cabalas.
