Rem 597 VTR - Need a couple of small parts

Bought one a year or two ago. After the first 50 rounds the extractor, spring and detent blew out. I let it go too long to claim warranty. I bought a VQ extractor but need the spring and detent.

The bloody thing's been sitting in my house for the past year or so in pieces LOL.

Anyone know where I can spend my $5 to get these parts?
 
I found a decent replacement spring in a bag-o-spings from princess autto and the detent is just a small metal pin AFAIK. You could likely make one up out of a small section of welding rod/nail/coat hangar... If you are totaly stummped I can see if I can dig up another spring and make up a detent pin...

Would absolutely love that. Most places including remington are out of stock. Never had much help with them on warranty :(
 
Hey thats the exact thing wrong with mine!!! Unfortunately i bought it used and never noticed it was missing. Tried everything to get the damn thing to extract shell!!! I felt kinda stupid when I figured it out. Same spot though, gun all apart looking for parts!!
 
What is it with these Remmys? It's like every other one was made on the Friday before a long weekend and went thru QC on the tuesday after the long weekend. I went through 2 597s and called it quits, which sucks cause I like Remington.
 
I'm not 100% sure, don't know they're agreement with Remington, but you might want to contact Gravel Agency http://www.gravelagency.com/
They're the Remington distributor for Canada.
