Rem 700 ADL value

A friend has a Rem 700 ADL in .243 (early 90's vintage) that he may sell me. It hasn't been used in 20 years and has some black mould-like stuff on it that I assume I will be able to clean off. Otherwise it's in good shape. I apologize in advance for not having pics LOL. What would be a fair price to offer him?

Weren't these rifles only about $450 brand new (circa 1990) ?

Worth what a wood stocked Stevens is worth . Between 350 and 425

If its got mold it might have rust under the stock which lowers the value a lot, but if not $400 is about right as the hinged floor plate models usually sell a bit higher.

I think your friend would be happy with $300, the gun is no use to him.

I'll buy just about any used short action 700 for $350 just to get the action... if it is in good shape it's worth more just as a shooter...
