Surprising how little velocity is lost with a shorter barrel.

Wow, good read I was thinking 24" would be an optimal choice but I was wrong. I think I will go with a 22", man I'm afraid of change! what ever happened to everything in a 26"

Yeah, good article. It really suggests that the velocity loss is nominal on short barrels.

It does make alot of sense with the contour and the short length reduces barrel whip and vibration, also the long barrels create friction vs pressure from the cartridge. I would like to know how long the barrel would have to be for that to come into play
