Rem 700 CDL

I am a smaller person i would like to purchase a Rem 700 CDL in 270 cal i know they come with a R3 recoil pad and i want to get the stock cut down to fit me can the R3 recoil pad be sanded to fit the stock?

It can be cut down, however you will need to replace the R3 pad with an R3 Grind to Fit type pad. These have enough material around the edges to be shaped to your stock. If you try to grind the original one, most likely you will grind throught the edge and you will not like the results.

You may want to check out those Model Seven CDLs in 7/08 or .308 as well.

I have one in .223 that is getting a Leupold VXII 2x7. It's pretty close to be perfect in size and handling for a short rifle.
