Rem 700 Classic in 250 Savage value?

Hey Paul I have personally seen a .270 and a .30-06 configured in the Classic model. Is that a Remington list? I must have been very mistaken.

Darryl
I found it on another gun site and haven't been able to confirm it's accuracy. Looks like Remington had a list at one time, but none of the links I found to it are worked.

I had a .416 RM in a "Classic". That was available through the Custom Shop and called the Custom Classic Safari, iirc. Similarly, I had a Custom C Grade BDL in .375 H&H, and that also came from the Custom Shop. I suspect that the Classic style was also available in other chamberings - in fact I seem to recall that being the case pre-Limited Edition.

The C Grade had some pretty wood on it:

I think at one time Remington made the Classic and the Limited Edition Classic. And that list is not from Remington; the people at Remington know how to spell Whelen.

I think in near-mint shape that rifle would be snapped up for $800.00.

I too remember the 700 Classic as a normal production firearm and each year they had a limited edition caliber, but the 700 Classic was still available in 270, 30-06, 7mmRM (I had one of these)

That is a great rifle/cartridge combination for a new shooter or anyone of smaller stature.
Would have great capailities as a coyote/dog gun for a walker.
Unless you are selling it to finance something you want to grow into or because you grew out of the .250, those are decisions you will make now and possibly regret later.
There are a few I regret selling but keep in mind it will sell given a willing buyer and a willing seller. The difference between $600 and $480 can not normally be overcome.

Pricing on remingtons are reALLY WEIRD. U have to really try to squezze 600 out of ss bdl so therefore a blues outta be less but less is what a Sps sells for and we all no a blued ol timer is far supiour to a Sps and outta be worth more but more is.the same as ss but ss is better then.blued so.should be worth more so now.we.pull out our hair sob in a corner and whimper why...why

IMO, this rifle will pull more than a BDL SS, because of calibre. They just aren't available...

I just saw one considered unfired with original box minus paperwork go for $1250 on Gunbroker.com
I'd say they go for a lot more than most think based on condition.

There is nothing wrong with selling/trading/buying provided that both parties are mutually happy in the exchange.
For this I've never regretted a transaction.

OP, did you get more than one quote offer at the gun show? I assume it was the Dauphin gun show. PM me, if you remember who gave you the $480. quote.

Thanks for all the input on this. I didn't intend to sell when I started this post but I received a lot offers through pm's. I was also able track down a rifle I had been looking for, for awhile, so I ended up selling and picking up a Tikka m65 deluxe that is absolutely mint, it doesn't even look as if it's fired a round. I think the offers I received best show what the market value for my rifle is, most offers were between $800 and $900, the highest was $1000. Again thanks for all the input.

Wow, good job selling it. At least you got what you wanted. I knew that guy was out to lunch when he offered you the $400 stink offer. And you got a way nicer rifle than that t3 stainless you wanted to trade for.
