Rem 700 detachable clip.

I think the Remington models with detachable mags have a label of DM in the model..

Like SPS DM? or something along those lines...

I assume you're referring to the one on the EE? Wondered that myself. I'm not aware of Remington offering the 7X57 in the last 10 years or so, which is when the DM system came out I believe. Maybe an owner added a Kwik Clip conversion?

Yes, that add is what brought this question up. I don't recall Remington making that caliber since the detach mags came out on their 700s. It may be the quick clip conversion or a barrel change???????

I would say that If there is a 700 with a detachable mag in 7X57 on the EE, it is a homebuild. You'll be able to tell what kind by immediatly looking at the pictures, as the Remington system has the release buttons on the side of the rifle, and if I remember correctly, the Quick Clip potrudes just a bit below the stock line.

The 7x57 was chambered up to and including 1995. The DM was introduced in 1995. While not catalogued in 7x57, it is entirely possible that it is a completely factory rifle. Remington is famous for limited builds that are never catalogued.

As well, the factory Remington DM kit can be purchased separately and added to a bdl rifle, and look as a factory build. So pics, in this case, won't prove that it is factory or not...Unless it is a kwik-klip addition...

My personal guess is someone added the factory DM kit, and it is not a re-barreled action...

I don't know why guys don't post pics right from the start and save 100 PM's asking the same questions...Pics should be mandatory in the EE...

You'd be surprised (or maybe not) how many guys sell stuff and don't even know what they have, ie make, model, year, etc. (like the diff between a vari-x and a vx scope)
 
lone-wolf, yes I did ask him, the answer didn't clear up the matter.
I like the idea of a det mag on a 7X57, I'm just a bit careful about what I buy sight unseen. I have a preference for all original Rem 700s, cond VG-EXC.

All he has to do is contact Remington on the phone and give them the serial number and they will tell you about the gun.

DM, Mountain, BDL, Classic etc....

They have given me a history on a few of mine.

not everyone is computer savy, and some like me dont have cam(i only do local sales anyways)
