rem 700 detachable mag problem

I have an almost brand new Remington 700 with a detachable mag, I've put a 100 rounds through it with no problems. I was at the range today and after every shot the mag fell out. I checked eveything and i cant figure out why. Its a 300 win mag so its got a good kick but recoil shouldn't knock out a magazine after literally every shot. Has any body had a similar experience.

You'll have to check the inletting to see if the mag well is allowing the springs to release back on the sides.

Simple fix to widen the well.

Is it the 700 DM or an aftermarket magazine?

The mag should click when inserted. Possible the lips on the mag are bent upward.

Its the original mag and seems secure with a click when inserted. Upon inspection of the well it appears to be a secure fit also.

sounds like it's not engaging "fully"...lube it and squeeze it a few hundred times and it will be fine...imo

Its the original mag and seems secure with a click when inserted. Upon inspection of the well it appears to be a secure fit also.

Take the bottom metal out and inspect the slots where the magazine latches click into... if the edges are worn and rounded they may need 'sharpening'. Same with the magazine - needs sharp edges if they are worn round.
