Rem 700 laminate split

The stock split right in the middle from the recoil lug to the mag well. Follows the laminates. The stock was bedded and we bought it that way. Gun has had deteriorating accuracy and we swapped the mounts and scope. Still bad so I pulled the stock and found the split.

So my question is can I put in a crossbolt with the split existing or should I get a new stock. This is the detachable mag version so harder but not impossible to find a new stock.

I would see if a gunsmith could re-bed the existing sock and possibly add an internal bolt where it split.

Glue the split as it is without clamping... work runny epoxy in deep or use a wicking wood super glue.

Add a screw through cross bolt and file the ends flush with the stock. Then glass bed the recoil lug and the tang area - stress free - no clamps or tightened screws.
