I have a rem 700 sps varmint in 22-250 its new and has been shaving the brass. Feeds rough and leaves a scratch starting 1/3 of the way down the cartridge. Even leaves a mark on the lip of the cartirdge. any help would be great. thanks all.

Unfortunately this has become a rather common problem with new Remington rifles (and shotguns for that matter). There most likely are some burrs at the mouth of the chamber. They can be fairly easily removed with a scraper and some abrasive paper (400 grit). You have to take the gun apart to get at the mouth.
