So which base and rings should I get. I want to get a Leupold Mark 4 scope. I am having a hard time finding one also. My local store wants too much. So any help on where to get bases, rings and the scope would be great. I have been through the site sponsor mostly also but would appreciate if someone could narrow down which ones are better for this sort of thing it would be excellent! Thanks!! I can't wait to shoot this thing!!!

What yardages are you shooting 90% of the time? If you're shooting out past 800yrds you might want a 20MOA base else if you're shooting mostly 100yrd-ish then maybe a 0MOA base might serve you better. Check the elevation adjustment range of the scope you plan on getting. Prophet River carries EGW bases and other sponsors carry other brands like Millet, Weaver, Night Force etc.

Whichever base you get, look up bedding your base on Google/Youtube. It's common on Remington 700's to have the rear receiver lower than the front.

check out some or all of the linked retailers at the top of the page. Jerry Teo, mystic precision is a wealth of knowledge. Like everything else, your budget will dictate what you "can" get, but buy once, cry once.

Same rifle here... I went with a Weaver tactical extended 20moa base and Leupold Mark 4 high rings. I had to go with high rings to get the 50mm objective to clear the barrel. I also had to cut off 2 sections on the rail to move the scope back for the right eye relief. I also bedded the back of the base, it sits square and true.

I purchased the base through an accessory dealer I found through eBay. I purchased my Harris bipod from the same company.
I got the rings from Wholesale sports. I started with the mediums and had to change them out to get the clearance needed.

Near bases and rings are the best (my opinion) but you pay for them, like 250 each. Their a copy of mark 4 rings and base but better metal and precision. And he is in alberta.

Sorry for the repost. But I hate to say it there would be no new posts without questions similar to once previously asked. Thanks to all those who replied with helpful info. I will check all,of those avenues out! Thanks!

HAve a look at DNZ 20MOA one piece mount for that rifle - they make a regular and TAC version. No lapping, all one piece. I just put one on my 5R - havent shot it yet, but it sure simplifies things, and a well made very solid mount. And inexpensive!!! Look on the DNZ website for pics, and I think some site sponsors carry them - i ordered mine thru optics planet.ca

Im guessing its the SPS tactical you have? If Im correct then on mine I went with a Pic rail and Burris XTR Low rings from Mystic Precision to mount my 6-24x50 scope. Im really happy with

the result, it sits just right. Hope this helps you out somewhat. I have some Leupold bases and rings hanging around if you are near Calgary and want something basic and inexpensive to get started.
