Rem 700 SPS base price is $850 for 2016?

Actually, if you can get one for $850 grab it up.

Looking at the pre-order price and the fact the buck is now sub 70 cents it's going to be more like $950 for an SPS/Blued - the stainless models will be over a grand.
 
Sure makes we wish I had purchased more than a few different rifles in the last few years! I also agree with Ted.

Sure am happy to have bought those 2 Ruger american in 308 and 30-06 for 299.00 all in each in 2014 ( they are still unboxed), those are like money in the bank for future moves... JP.
 
Wait till you see the price of reloading components, $65 powder and $70 cup and core bullets are in our future if the loonie keeps taking a dive.

Looks like the next few years will have a significant amount less gun spending for me. Put the money that I would have spent on guns and put it in a fund for Africa is my plan.

Maybe I'll grab a CZ 455 in 17 Hmr while there are still a few vendors selling them for 2014/15 prices.

Yeah, a lot of shops still have inventory from 2014 and 2015 with the older prices attached. When they sell out the existing inventory and start bringing in new stuff, you'll start seeing the price increase.

You will notice that the weight of the compact rifle is conspicuously absent from the specifications.

Get used to it and a lot worse coming even Canadian made rifles are marketed through an American dollar base price. Right now it cost you a buck and a half to match an American dollar.

The awful truth is that we needed to wake up, and realize where we really are, after years of living pretty high.

I'm far from a knowledgeable financial type Ted but from what I read here and there we'll be in this situation for quite a spell to come :( It is what it is I guess. ..
