Yes, it will take standard 700 SHORT ACTION mags. Just like the 308. You could take a mag out of a 700 chambered in 308, and it will work in your 7-08. It just needs to fit a short action.
I'm not aware of any magazines that work in a 700 that hold more than 4 rounds. The replacement magazine I bought was a Remington brand, so it's identical to the ones that the rifle comes with. There's some laws in Canada about how many rounds a hunting rifle can hold in the magazine. I'm thinking 5, but then most Enfield's hold more than that, so 5 may not be the number. I'm sure there's a limit though.
