Rem 700 SPS factory barrel quality

My sps barrel is fine. It was re-chambered before It was ever shot so any pre-existing issues.....I will never know about. I was reading about the 7mm stw cartridge and at first guys were saying that it was more accurate than a 7mm rem mag. Turns out a lot of them were rechambered Remington 700's and just by cutting a new chamber that was concentric to the bore improved things accuracy wise so it was no knock on the 7 RM just a knock on Remington.

One thing for sure, SPS rock blasted barrels are terrible for rusting! Though I can't complain as far as accuracy goes, seem to be on par with the rest.

I must  be lucky with my SPS buys/builds! Damn, I better get off my ass and buy a lottery ticket for the coming Sat night 649 draw. After all, the SPS family is my price point!

"...seems to be a fairly common practice..." Buying a rifle just for the action is the only way to get a Rem 700 receiver. Nothing new about it either. Been going on for eons. Ditto for Win M70 receivers.
