There will be no difference in weight between a CM barrel and a SS providing they are the same contour, length and bore.
Here's what I would do...7mm WSM, the best of the WSM's IMHO...the 270 is good but Winchester really pushes it, doing what JOC did for the old 270...the 7 is a better cartrige IMHO....050 longer case body gives it a couple grains more case capacity and the ability to use bullets in 168gr and heavier.
Do it in a 24" Rem Mountain Rifle contour leaving the shank about 1" long and 1.15" OD over the chamber.
You're building a lightweight custom so get a good lightweight stock, a McMillan Edge in whatever pattern fits you. I'd put bottom metal in it too,..contrary to popular belief there is no weight gain with a factory aluminium floorplate. We've swapped two of them into Ti's and could detect no weight difference on our scales. Remember, you are losing the heavy steel escutcheon under the front screw, the middle screw is gone and a couple square inches of fibreglass from the bottom of the mag well..it's a wash.
Aluminium Talley's are light but they sure aren't attractive,....use them anyway.
Go with a 3-9 Leupy lightweight scope,...8.8 ounces.
If I had a Ti short mag that's the way I would build it...
