Rem 700 trigger options

When I put a replacement trigger in my 700 and the bolt lift was too heavy I filed down the cocking piece to take the pressure off it works fine now

I am trying to understand how filing on the cocking piece made it easier to lift the bolt after it was fired. The cocking piece still is being cammed back within the back of the bolt body and the firing pin spring still has the same strength... did you actually shorten the front of the cocking piece that engages the bolt body on cocking?

Triggertech triggers are more consistent then the 6 decades of model 700’s ime.

I have noticed that the pull weight is heavier if you come off safety compared to not. It’s annoying. Not so with a triggertech though.

Can you elaborate on that please DANS40X ?

Having no issue in my other 700's with them.

Any aluminum shank/SpeedLock firing pin assy is a marketing SCAM for a Rem/Clone platform.
To ensure proper ignition w/ the above mentioned pin assy,a 2-4Lb heavier spring is required.
DO NOT ever dry fire the above, since it will NOT be replaced by the manufacturer....for Free.

A properly TIMED M.Walker trigger group is capable of being adjusted down to 1/4 Lb & OEM Rem f/pin assy installed will allow 2 finger operation & w/ <1hr work. & is capable of being dry fired 'till hell won't have it

The T T site states that trigger pull weight adjustment is relative to mainspring weight.

For every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction...that you have experienced.

Aluminum shank/SpeedLock f/pin assy will assist lock time in Win/Mausers of which a Rem is not of their design.

Fact not opinion-
Cost-I forgot about USA to CDN exchange rates & the Jewell BR is the least expensive of the different configurations....in the USA.

BR builders/shooters drilled VENT holes in the bolt bodies at 12 oclock so when the bolt is rotated into battery would VENT gases out the ejection port as a decoration?
NO,to VENT gases prior to the gases getting into their Jewell trigger groups that would break the mid lever rendering the trigger USELESS.

Arnold of yesteryear & Brian of today will NOT sell you replacement parts....for a reason.

Not my first rodeo!

Is this a problem with all calibres, both factory and aftermarket actions?

Id recommend a Trigger Tech. Mine breaks at 1.5 to .5 LBS. Scary if you don't know what your doing, but helps so much. Plus their customer service is absolutely fantastic!

The cg extreme trigger sat a bit high and it was hard to close. The gun would sometimes even not fire it was so bound up. There is no way to lower the trigger so i filed the cocking peice down in height not shorten it lengthwise. It sits like its supposed to now not pressed down hard.
