I picked up an HS Precision stock from a rem 700 on the EE a while back for a VTR in 223.
Its one of the early, first version vssf stocks.

Anyway, the VTR's action has the new factory adjustable trigger on it.
The problem I'm having us that if I tightn the action screws down I can't function the safety lever. It also won't #### the bolt on close.

I'm guessing the new style trigger doesn't fit as well in the older style stock.

I've attached a pic where you can see the safety's rub marks in the aluminum bedding block.

I know it's hard to see, buts right below the bolt handle cut out.

It also looks like the mag box is sitting a bit side ways in the stock and the trigger is off to one side.

Also kind of hard to see.

Can I relieve some of the aluminum in this area with a dremel tool with out any troubles?

Grind away, remove lots where needed... then skim bed the action with the barrel held centered and the screws loose...

I ground a bit out this morning and got it all to work perfectly. It took a few tries of grind a but, put it back together, repeat as I don't want to take too much out.

One thing I noticed is that I had to take some from the other side as well to accommodate the ends if the pins from the trigger group.

Again. Thanks for the advice.
