At one gun store close to me there is a new Reminghton
VLS in 223 caliber 7 twist he sell it at 999$.
There a little scratch on top of the
receiver and a small ding in the wood on the forarm(sp).
Do you think its a fair price and does it have a detachable mag
check it real fast was in a hurry.

Like to use it for 200m to 600m paper punching maybe coyote hunting.
Later will learn to reload change barrel and stock make a bench gun.
What do you think:)

7" twist would be good for the longer distances because you can run a pretty heavy 223 bullet with such a fast twist. I would think up to 85gr.

if it`s new, it has to have a 12:1 twist rate that is for lighter bullets.

never seen a 7:1 twist on Rem 700 in .223......better to check it again....

There's nothing worse than buying a rifle thinking it is one twist and finding out that it is not what was advertised. Trust me.

I bought a Savage off the EE that was advertised as a 1:7 and it turned out to be a 1:10.5

It maybe a older model but its new .
You guys are probably right for the twist on the
REM site thats what they say is the price fair?

The VLS has a hinged floorplate. The price seems a little on the high side for one with blemishes. I have one in .243 and I like it. The trigger on mine is horrible though.

Maybe Savage 1-7 twist ?? I think $999 plus taxes for a dinged up VLS is quite high. You would never sell one for that in the EE forums, just my opinion though.

The newest Le Barons catalog lists them at $1049. Last years catalog lists them at $849. Thats a $200 jump in one year.

There is a 204 in LRPV for sale in the Precision EE from Pinedweller. Very good deal, and you could order a match barrel what ever twist you want and screw it on.

Okay here it goes:
