Hey everyone

Just picked up a new rem 700 rifle and was thinking I tossing on a HS precision stock but the model I have has the factory detachable magazine. Is this going to be an issue or will it bolt right up?

Cheers

It depends on what model of stock it is, but to the best of my knowledge, they should bolt right up with out issues. When you install, keep a small fine file handy, you may have to lightly shave some of the material to get it to fit, but it will be very snug! Enjoy.

If the stock design you get doesn't have the magazine release grooves, you will need to machine/file the grooves. Otherwise the bottom metal will not fit with the magazine installed.

The bottom metal will likely fit just fine as is, But you would not be able to insert the magazine.

Removing the material to clear the magazine release buttons is not hard to do. I used a fine file and patience to do mine.

I went with a Choate Custom Tactical. The best/only stock I like of the choate family.
It is a heavy brute, but silly solid!!!

awesome looking rifle and great work on your part. looks like it shouldnt be an issue to do that machine work since the mag catch is in the bottom metal insert

cheers

Ya for sure. Looking at the choate tactical now over the HS take off stocks. Looks more like the mcmillan grip angle to me which I found comfortable. Now to give mystic precision a shout
