Rem 710

Just what does a post count have to do with having a valid opinion. Does a higher post count make you any smarter?[/QUOTE]

Obviously not... I've owned 3 in 3 different calibers.. I'm not defending them..I simply started with if you don't or have never owned one.. You have nothing to base it off of..

By the way big red.. I have a little certificate from the Colorado school of trades.. that also helps in my opinion.. more so that your 8000+ posts..

newb or not.

Well cas I am not the one going on about post counts.. you seem to be the only one obsessed with my 8000 posts.
Your inability to come up with any logical discourse to validate your opinion is indicative of you being "greener than donkey snot" with regard to firearms. And that is why many members here have qualified their responses to your newness with your number of posts.:p

I am truly impressed with your little certificate from the "Broke Back Mountain school of trades"... if I was to hazard a guess I would likely go with "Remedial Basket Weaving" ?

OK OK... before Maddog is forced to remind me that his patience has limits I wanna say one thing.
cas don't get all bent out of shape this is just me hackin on ya for fun... nuthin personal

You don't have to actually own a product to know that it is junk.If you take a vehicle for a road test and it rides or handles poorly, owning it won't make it ride or handle better. I have fired two 710s and have examined them in person and after doing so,there is no way that I would ever buy one. Both 710s that I fired had actions that were so rough that it was not possible to quickly cycle the bolt while it was still on my shoulder.

Sounds like everyone has a comment on the 710... How many of you keyboard experts have actually owned one.. Not the " my best friends ex-roomates , mothers half brother had one and it broke, so I think it's a piece.. but truely owned one. I'll bet 90 percent of the "keyboard experts" have never owned one and are going by what some "other " keyboard expert had to say.

...............Alot of folk here are very accomplished hunters and shooters. Some work in and operate gun shops. Your getting off on the wrong foot here junior. Alot of people commenting here on the 710 are far from "keyboard experts".

haha ya.. that's exactly what i got.. at this rate, I'll have 2000 posts and be smart in no time..Not to mention being able to touch something and tell if it's good.. and I spent all that money on schooling..I obviously could have learned so much more from the experts here..

Probably if the learning had to do with firearms.
I have shot several 710's myself, and would not own one for several reasons, none of which you would likely find valid.
They shoot "okay" as far as accuracy goes, but they are not anywhere near some econo models that are available.
There aere many real experts with decades of experience on this site, I wouldn't be too quick to bash us......

The above post hits nails the issue on the head...

For the money, or a tad more, there are way better choices than the Rem 710 in the econo rifle scenario.

Not gonna lie bud...I laughed out loud on that one pretty damn hard.

Kudos.

Aww, he didnt come back....

Maybe he had a 710 accident this weekend.

I can read the headlines now.
"Shooter loses nose from floppy bolt handle"
ON saturday, 18 year old Cas 710dum, a recent graduate from brokeback boys academy was at the range showing his friend his new state of the art Remington firearm.
After cycling the bolt ferociously he realized it ws unlike any of the 710's he'd heard about on the internet. It actually cycled!
Though he was repeatedly warned, he chose to chamber a round anyways.
"Apparently cas has had three of em" one onlooker pointed out just before he blew his nose off.
Cas' nose will be sadly missed, but he did learn a valuable lesson.
for $350.00 there are better options on budget firearms.
ONe guy in the crowd reportedly calling himself Bigredd (and some superhero in a green and yellow suit was with him at the time) offered one short comment on the tragedy. "He should have learned after the first one"

This was printed yesterday in the Brokeback bawler. LOL

Back to the original purpose of the thread. IMHO a 710 in good shape would not be worth more than 150 bucks in a buy and sell flyer. It is not worth 0.02 to me, I would not buy one on a bet at any price:puke: . My son's daisy air rifle is better made. To someone who doesn't know or care about quality, wants something that goes bang (hopefully:rolleyes: ), doesn't want to spend any money, and pulls it out to hunt a couple of times a year, this MIGHT fit their bill.
You will not be able to sell this gun to a knowledgeable firearm person at any price:onCrack: . I would recommend trying to sell it through a classified or a buy and sell. Remington 710 rifles are the Pontiac Fieros of rifles. Good luck!;)

The Remington 710 is a good gun and is in the cheap catagory of affordable guns. ...They work and shoot straight and that's all they were made for, and a beginner can afford it. ...

A true enough statement, as far as it goes, but they seem to have had more defects in quality than some other entry-level bargain rifles, and for the money your hypothetical beginner can afford, there are guns that are simply better in design and in build quality, e.g. Savage's package rifles and the Stevens 200.

This is probably one of the top 5 posts I've ever read/seen here.
This includes that one thread of the guy posting nudes of his wife, a long time ago.
