Good evening, all.
I see that the conversion from fixed to hinged floorplare has been covered very well already. My question is this: the Model 722 uses 3 action screws, the 700 uses 2. Does the screw in front of the trigger perform a function other than providing additional clamping force to the bottom metal? I ask because the M700 BDL I just purchased is threaded for the screw in front of the trigger, yet there is no screw.
Thanks

The 722 used a stamped strap type trigger guard. Front and rear screws hold the rifle together, the one in front of the guard holds the guard in place.
M700 receivers have the same 3 hole pattern. If the rifle is set up as a BDL with hinged floorplate, only the front and rear screws are used. If the rifle is a blind magazine ADL, the middle screw holds the front of the trigger guard.
