Looking for dimmensions of the tube protruding from the gas block of a Remington 7400.
Just acquired a 7400 in 308 with a heavely corroded tube, that is split down the midddle. It needs to be replaced.
I'd like to know the ID,(drill number that just slides inside tube), its lenth from the gas block, and OD.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Thanks! That would be a great starting point.
From what I've read, their is reference to a 'gas jet'. This implies a restriction/orfice at the end of the tube, but my guess is its just a tube.
Thanks for your time,
John

That restriction could be the ball bearing under the set screw.

Great! I never considered the ball bearing to be the 'jet', but that explains it.
With regard to your .191-.184 dimmension, is it a type-o, maybe the outside diameter instead?
Thanks for your time,
John
