Rem 7600 30-06 rebarrel to 375 whelen

The cost of dies doesn't bother me too much, but setting up a gunsmith with tooling would put me off. I will see if there are still 35 whelen barrels are available. I kind of have my heart set in the 375 though. I'm thinking the 375 7600 will be a great bear/moose brush gun. I guess the 35 should be just as good. I will have to do some more research, especially resizing the 9.3 bullets. Would the shoulder really be a problem?

Even when considering the holes drilled for the open sights?

Yep... unless the sight holes were drilled off spec... which I have seen happen in a number of platforms... always best to calculate hole depth versus bore center PRIOR to drilling.

If you are referring to paying for reamers and gauges only to see them go into a smiths tool kit... the way to avoid this is to buy them yourself and then they will be returned after the job and you can either keep them or sell them as a "once-used" reamer... I have a bunch that will be going in the EE soon...

If you happen to have surplus 375 CT reamer etc you want to sell please send me a PM. I have to un countoured .375 shilens for a couple future projects.

there is a Rem. Model 6 that has been rebarreled to 9.3x62 . A member of the APRA owns it, I saw him test firing it at Rosebud. I imagine he lives in or around Calgary. Finding a .35 Whelen would be a lot cheaper me thinks.
