Any fans here? I'm trying to sell a cj3a and someone is offering me one as part of a trade. It looks like a decent firearm from the photos. This one is a 308 and just has a tasco scope on it.

Anything I should look out for? Thanks everyone.
 
I have the same rifle , it's grown on me to be honest . They're not usually a problematic rifle and are pretty reliable . I've owned a number of 760 7600's over the years , for the most part , they're accurate and dependable rifles . My 308 is one of those wonderful rifles that doesn't care what I feed it . It won't group under an inch at one hundred yards , close to it though , but keeps everything under 1 3/4 inches at the same distance . That'll do everything I need to do . They do run more reliably with a clean chamber as they don't have as much extraction camming force as a bolt action , nothing extreme , just general maintenance .
 
There’s a huge following for the 760 and 7600. I have the carbine version in 30-06 and it’s a favourite deer rifle of mine. Won’t be selling that one.
 
Picked up a 7600 35 whelen. Wanted to like it. Found it heavy, large and clunky for what it should be, and it’s really awkward to carry.

the 308 7600 is a fantastic deer rifle. keep it clean, put on a nice recoil pad, get a spare mag, get a trigger job if it needs one (most do) and you will never be disappointed. Good luck
 
I've owned several 760 and 7600s over the years. All have worked well, were dependable and accurate.

Currently have no pump rifles except an older 141 in 35Remington.
 
I inherited an old one in 270 from my grandfather. Kicks like a mule but very accurate. Not typically my go to rifle but that's just preference. Functionally and accuracy wise it's as good as my bolt actions.
 
I bought a 35 Whelen 7600 from a real nice guy on here almost 10 years ago. Trimmed to 18.5", it's a great shooter and one of my favourites in the box. Doesn't carry the best with one hand though, that is my only complaint, pretty minor.

That was my experience also. I had a 760 .270 and hunted with a 760 .308 as a kid, kicked abnormally hard for the chambering. The .30-06 with the 18” barrel is prob more unpleasant off the bench then a lot of .300 win mags.
 
I've wanted one since reading about the Benoit family using them when I was a kid. I am seriously thinking about finally getting one in 270 or 308 to replace my 7MM for deer.
