Rem 7600

I guess I'm the odd man out, I just traded away my 30-06 760 Carbine for a bolt .223.

I found my follow up shots were as slow as a single shot.

I wasn't able to make on target second shots in a decent amount of time.

I have no issue with follow ups using a bolt action design so kept my 700 '06?

Big fan of the 7600 here.

My 35 Whelan 7600 had to go back to Remington in Illion shortly after purchasing it because the through bolt for the butt stock stripped out of the receiver. Canadian distributor wanted me to pay for repair but US Factory told me to return it and they would fix it free of charge. I did and it was returned as promised and never had another issue with it.
Factory guy pointed out they had a couple of complaints like mine due to the plate at the back of the action where the through bolt threaded into not being properly hardened and also the occasional over exuberant assembler.

HOWEVER this rifle (7600) has proven to be the most consistently accurate rifle I own ... if I know I wont have a chance to re-zero a rifle when I leave to go hunting - I take the 7600 with a cheapy Scopechief 1.5-4.5 variable (which is a real 'sleeper' IMO). While the groups are not always "sub MOA" at 100yds they are always under 2 inches and always to the same POI with factory loads and my handloads. In my experience that's a darn good performance for a hunting rifle!!
