Rem 783 vs Axis for coyote

I would have went 22-250 over a 223 as a coyote gun.
That's just me. I like a 243 here. Because you never know when then dam wolfs will come in.
 
I think a 1/9 twist .223 is lots for dogs and wolves. You can use heavier bullets to do more damage for the bigger stuff.
 
I liked the 783 when handling it in a shop but some things bugged me like the plastic bolt handle (came loose on my axis) and the molded studs for sling... Also it's impossible to find one without a scope that i dont want anyway.

Hope to get good time with the 700 at the range and the field!

No plastic bolt handle on the 783....
 
I looked at both did not like the molded in sling swivels or the bolt.. on thr 783 ,, axis poor trigger and cheap stock ,,, ordered a Howa with a Hogue stock ,, about the same price for me .. will let you know how the howa 223 shoots
 
which one has the better stock? im sure if you used either savage or rem to club the coyote they will both have same outcome.... KO dog.
