I gave it another good cleaning and today I shot some of the Hornady varmint express 55gr V max. The first 100yd shot which I consider a fouling shot was about 1.5" high. The next four resulted in an honest to goodness .45" group with three of them touching the fourth almost. Needless to say I had a huge poop eating grin when I seen the results. A few more rounds confirmed it wasn't a fluke. Not bad for a rehabbed 50yr old gun with stock 4lbs ish trigger, 15yr old 3-9 x40 Bushnell Banner scope and shooter of average abilities. Since it seems to like the same 55gr Vmax bullet I use in my .223 I will be able to reload it in both when I get a set of 22-250 dies. The one thing I did notice that sometimes considerable effort was needed when extracting the fired cases. Maybe the chamber needs some attention? This one is a keeper.
