Hello everyone: I was wondering what a good price would be for the above if gun is in good condition. I know they are not to easy to get nowadays.
 
^Agreed, that's what they seem to go for at gunshows. I noticed a couple 788's in the EE a while back in 7mm08 for the $400 mark
 
While were on the subject of 788s in 7mm-08, has anyone ever seen one in anything other than the 18 1/2" barrel carbine?

Anyone know, for certain , if they were ever made with a longer barrel?

I agree... one that's in nice shape will set you back a few bucks.... but then again when you get to the mid-high 400 dollar area you are very close to what you can get a spankin' new 700 SPS for...

I love my Rem 788 in 7mm-08... but I'd be happy with a SPS in 7mm-08, too.

Hi Ted - Not too sure on that one... every Rem 788 in 7mm-08 I've ever seen was the 'carbine' with the 18 1/2" pipe... Regards, Marcus.
