Shot these a while back thought they were pretty good. I dont like the new bonded slugs too well. I still favor the HP Copper. Who else uses them and to what effect have YOU had?

I shot 3 deer with remington copper solids out of a 20ga. I wasn't impressed with them even though there were 3 dead deer. They seemed to blow right through without doing enough damage and yes the deer were hit in the vitals. 2 deer gave no indication of being hit until they dropped some distance away. The other thing I didn't like was not much of a blood trail. I've went back to foster style slugs since most of our shots are 25-50 yds anyway.

Something I forgot to add before, I tried Buckhammers in the 20ga with the rifled barrel and I really liked them. They were just as accurate as the Copper solids, but seemed to have more knock down power on game. Give them a try.

Ikedaboy, a 870 with a 26" fully rifled barrel? I haven't seen one of those before. Where did you get that? I have a 21" rifled barrel on my 870 SPS. I did some testing on hardwood logs and was not impressed with the remington copper solids. They group nice at 50 yards and penetrate fairly well compared to other slugs, but sometimes they fail to open. I recovered one of the slugs and the petals collapsed inward, making it a copper monolith. I chose the Winchester Partition Gold slugs instead. They penetrated just as well, but opened nicely into the classic mushroom. Bagged a wild boar with that combo last fall.

26" bbl comes with a 28" smooth bore barrell combo. I found it at my gun local store, Remington has them on their website as well.
