Trying to find the date of manufacture and value of a model 870 Wingmaster, 12 gauge, 30 in. barrel, full choke. Serial # T3291xx5V, stamped KB4 on receiver. Thank you.

Must be a 1981, there are 3 different B years, early 50,s , 1981 and 2007. What would be the value of this shotgun in excellent condition, hardly used?

I wasn't born yesterday, a $200.00 Wingmaster would be well used. This gun should be worth about $400.00!

why did you ask????
A base model '81 in new condition would be worth $400. In used condition (bluing wear , scratches etc) would be $200.
A " deluxe" model (checkering, 3", ribbed barrel) add $100

A picture would help.

Well if you were not born yesterday you would know enough to post a pic if you wanted an accurate value. Right now we don't even know if it is a 81 and your idea of condition may be totally different than nra standards which most follow here .
Post a pic and stop biting those trying to help you

Seems liked I've stepped on a few toes, I apologize for my comment and will attempt to post pictures, an endeavor I have not been successful at yet (old guy). I am somewhat A.D.D when it comes to computer-- photo stuff. Again my sincere apologies. I think it in an 1981 issue because it is surely not an early 50,s , it has an older looking recoil pad, white spacers and fleur de lis checkering. I will see if my son can help me post pictures. Thank you for helping and sharing your knowledge.

Wow, that's a great looking 870. Your Wingmaster appears to be pre-80s vintage. Judging by the V at the end of the serial # and the non flextab shell elevator. When Remington started producing wingmasters with a 3" ready ejector the serial number was changed to an M to denote magnum. Does your barrel indicate 3" shells?

Now that is better. 81 is possible and in real nice shape.
If mine I would be listing it for 450 min shipped only because it has a non vent rib barrel which drops the price a bit.

This is interesting info?? since remington themselves could not tell us when they switched to a 3" ejector in all 870 receivers many of which were supplied with 2 3/4" only barrels from the factory. Do you have more info on this change:confused:
The flextab started in 1984 on production guns if I recall correctly although my 69 TB trap has a version of it. LOL The old cut key slot we all did back then to do the same function.

Plain BBl No Chokes not 3'' nice condition $250.00 GOOD LUCK ON $450.00

We are usually in agreement but not this time. :pSold three this vintage 2 3/4" 870 vent rib 12ga last year for 450 plus shipping in excellent condition yes mine were perfect trap guns so that would make a difference However 450 shipped for the condition his gun is in is not out to lunch in my mind and a good starting point, less than 400 shipped I would keep it.The only thing on that one not 3" is the barrel it has the mag stock, receiver etc and not hard to pick up a 30" vent rib or express barrel with tubes
New one is 800 plus and taxes as you know, yes they may have choke tubes but not the gun this one is. A site sponser listed three vintage at 385 plus tax, plus shipping a couple days ago and one is gone already.
Look at it this way the complete receiver 200 min, stock set mint 100, barrel 100. It's 400 min in parts.
As you know old wingmasters are hot in the past few years and in demand especially mint ones. getting like land it seems they are not making any more like the vintage ones and most coming up for sale are trash. However just one man's opinion and I have been wrong many times before.:)
