Rem CDL 7mm - 08

Well at least you picked a decent caliber.Actually my wife has a model 7 with the 18.5" barrel 7mm-08 groups about 1.5".I have a Browning micro hunter 7mm-08 on order. The cdl has the 24" barrel, one of the newer models haven't yet seen on let alone try one.Should be a good choice though.

Or you could buy a Sako or Tikka and never need a bedding job they will shoot sub MOA Guaranteed.
Tikka's are plastic and Sako's are way over priced.

There is a lot of "plastic" on lots of rifles these days, but less on the Sako than the Tikka.
Tikka employs the use of space age Polymers, (yes a type of plastic),

But so do a number of firearms companies, and I see nothing wrong with it.
it is lightweight, strong for its weight, and is not prone to breaking as some metals are.
As far as accuracy and price go, these rifles are worth their price, just ask anyone who owns one and has owned several different brands of firearms.
They are smooth , accurate, and reliable.

Now, before anybody goes on about "blow ups" and such, many companies have had these problems in the past.
I'm not saying the sako and Tikka are the "End all and "Be all" of firearms, becuase there are things I do not like about them also.
But I am not going to bash them , I would recommend them to anybody looking for a new rifle.

I'm just saying that they are not overpriced as is suggested, and they are in fact accurate, and super smooth in the action.

I wasn't bashing them just made a true statement about them.

CDL = Nice rifle. should keep you knocking furry things over for a long time.

rifle is easily MOA, with out bedding, but I would take a dremel and make sure the barrel is nicely freefloated. something I have done with both my remingtons, AND my Sako 75 (yes it needed freefloating too)

Have you ever shot one, Win/64?
If not, you should get out and see if you can, they really are fine rifles.

Martinbns on this board haqd a number of brands and tried a zillion, before he found that thte Sako suits him just fine!
I wasn't isinuationg that you were bashing them, BTW, I was just cautioning against the supposed deluge of others that may jump in because of the bad bunch of Billet stainles that slipped by Sako's QA a few years back....

I have owned pre Garcia Sako's and they were a much nicer rifle than the new ones. As far as the Tikka's go I have handled them but not shot one. I am sure they are accurate guns. I just don't like the mass produced feel of them.

Never owned a Sako, but I have a couple of Tikka's in the 595/695 series [pre T3's]... my stainless/synthetic Tikka in 6.5x55mm, bought spankin' new, was a sub MOA rifle right outta the box.

very true about the older Sakos!
But then, ,mnay older rifles are much better quality in the manufacture department than they are now!

I am not a bolt action fan, but the 1925 made Mannnlicher I got for brussh hunting this fall is just incredible as far as tolerances, etc go.

I have owned several Remingtons 700's over the years, but the M7 has alwways intrigued me....

I buy 3 new centerfire rifles each year .... get them shooting as best I can....and resell before they lose too much value. It is my retirement hobby. I've had Remingtons, Sako's, and now have a Tikka Lam/SS in 7mm-08 which is ready for resale. (It is listed on the Exchange forum). It's a pretty good shooter with handloads. I really like the 7mm-08 caliber so am going to try another one ...likely a Rem CDL.
The Sako's and Tikka shoot close to the same, but the resale on the Sako is terrible. Sako's seem to resell at about 65% of their new price even when they are less than a year old and shoot well. The Remingtons seem to bring closer to 75% of their original value. I am hoping the Tikka does a bit better than the Remingtons.
I have a Cooper on order that will not be here for another six months.

I also "play" with rimefires. CZ rules the mid-priced class.
