Rem Magnum Action Reliability

These Rem 700 Supergrade & XCR rifles in big bore calibres (ex: 375 H&H to .458 win mag).

Are Remington actions & 2 locking lugs really suited for these calibres?

They handle the even larger capacity ultramag cartridges just fine.

Read DeHaus' book "Bolt action rifles" he claimes the 700 action is possibly the strongest of the common commercial actions. I have read a number of times that they will withstand more pressure than a Weatherby Mark V.

There is no question on strength.The M-700 as well as the post and classic M-70 actions are all 375 length.On a African safari reliablity won't be a question,the PH has loaner rifles.

Yes, they are strong enopugh and reliable enough.

The only thing they dont' have is the extra margin for operator error that a CRF does.

I will admit my four m700 rifles dont feed as smooth as some other types of rifles, but dammit, I like them and Im cool
