Anybody have any experience with the rem model 7?
Just picked one up and the barrel isn't floating at all , I was going to shoot it this week end and see how it groups or is this a waste of time and money
I should pull the stock off float the barrell and bed the action?
Thanks

Remington puts pressure points on all their light barreled hunting rifles and it has been my experience that this is how they shoot the best. Just go shoot it and see, but I would be willing to bet it shoots just fine "as is"........I've got seven Mod 7s (a 223, 243, 260, 7-08, 358 and 2-350 RM) and haven't floated one of them.

9/10 times the 7 will shoot best with contact as mentioned. I have found the odd one that preferred floating, that is the exception for sure.

My experience is that all rifles will shoot the best free floated and bedded, remington, ruger, winchester doesn't matter.

All my Remingtons have been bedded and free floated. The point of impact does not shift as rifles with a pressure point will.
