Hey guys,

Question for you. I have a Remington model 700 in 308. It has an internal mag ( ADL??). I buddy at work was saying there are conversion kits out there to detachable mag. Anyone know where I would find one in CANADA.

Also looking for a hardcopy manual on the same gun.

I believe the conversion kits are only to convert the BDL, with the hinged floor plate. If it's an ADL with the blind magazine, I'm not sure if it can easily be done. You might be better off to sell it and pick up a new 700 SPS with the detachable magazine for $529.00.

Best regards,

I don't know if anyone in Canada has it in stock but someone could order one for you I am sure.

H.S. Precision are the only company to make one for the short action 700. It is in the USA and the cost is over $200 down there. It is also quite heavy. Inletting the ADL stock would be required and the fit as far as the depth may vary from stock to stock. That is to say the new assembly may sit a bit proud when inletted correctly, or it may be below the stock surface slightly.

I would expect to have this supplied and installed you would be spending well over $400.

Not to mention you can get a brand new Rem 700 SPS with factory detachable magazine for $530... ;) :p

For awhile there were DM bottom metal units available, just needed a Dremel tool to grind out the stock and add a Rem. factory DM mag and off you go. Doug at Raynershine gunworks did some of these up and I could not tell the difference between a factory unit and the redone version. Give him a call at 306-689-2654 and see if he has anything available.

Blaine.
