Rem Model 710 7mm .... Opened the box on the range :)

I have fired two 710s and accuracy ran right around 1-1/2" at 100 yards which really isn't that bad for a cheap rifle. However the actions were so rough that I had to take the rifles off the shoulder to cycle the bolt.

Personally, I think the Rem 710 is a POS and I would never own one...

However, that said, if it floats your boat & will do what you want with it then good on ya. I hope it turns out to be $400 well spent...

Regards, NAA.

hey, if it does the job, why not. not everybody wants or needs or can afford to drop a grand (or more) on a rifle and scope. and the more people that can take up hunting, the better.

an 1.5" group is decent for anybody using a straight out of the box rifle with factory ammo and no sand bags at the range.

i still can't believe that i am defending a gun made of plastic.

The point is that there are BETTER rifles out there that sell for less than the 710.. :D

If the 710 gets a rank newbie into the game, then great....more power to him. We need all the new shooters/hunters we can get.

Time, exposure to different opinions at the range or on CGN, practice, ncreased disposable income and even peer pressure will do the rest.

Well said!

Everyone who buys the 710 says it is so cheap. But a Stevens 200 or a Mossberg ATR is much less. And leftover 700ADL's can be had for the same price. Go figure.

I had never fired a rifle before today other than an old 3030 like 5 times so im pretty happy with it ..... I called 4 gun shops in the area and none carried the savage or the mossberg which i wanted and i needed a rifle for Deer in like 2 weeks...

Keep ripping....Ill be posting pics soon

Met a chap at our range last year who had to almost break his bank to buy his two sons a 710 each for the upcoming hunting season. Those kids were very proud of their dad and in awe of their rifles, they were each making clover-leafs with dad's reloads. Maybe they got lucky too. Gimme a Savage any day 'though.

Nothing like being cut down by your anonymous peers after your purchase. :|

The first rifle I ever owned, my dad bought me. It was a ultra-cheapo coey in 308 win. It was extremely plain jane. Topped with a 4x tasco and weaver tip-offs. Nobody ever wanted to check out my rifle. I had to learn a ot about rust prevention. But I loved that rifle!

I shot more game with that rifle, including a B & C Elk and Black Bear until I became convinced that I needed to spend 3x that much on a rifle. My hunting hasn't got any better.

Bring on the 710 flamers !

Not entirely true, as this thread was initiated by cityhunter with the invitation to "bring on the 710 flamers!", and the flames were brought on.
