Looking to put some new rings and or bases on my model 788 rem
Have 2 piece weaver on now with weaver rings ..any suggestions on maybe one piece base and maybe some burris zee rings or zee rings to fit the weaver bases and where to purchase or somethng else that would be preferable?
Any advice is much appreciated gents

I went with the EGW 1 piece base and Burris zee rings. It was a way nicer setup than the 1 hole rear weaver base.

I purchased the base from Brownells, and the rings locally.

 
Is that a 243 also .? Do they classify the 243 a extra long action for a one piece base ?thot i read that on the midway usa site

Yes it is a 243,

The 243, 7mm-08, 308 (and maybe 30-30) chamberings are classified as the "long" 788 action. The others are the "standard" length.

Just an FYI post. 222, 223, 22/250, 30/30 and I do believe SOME 243s (likely early ones) are short action. SOME (again I believe maybe later) 243s, 6mm, 7mm-08 and 308 are long action.

What year is your rifle? What is the measurement between action screws?
